45 year old man was rescued from the jaws of a 12 ft alligator in Florida.
Oh yeah, he was naked and high on crack.

Podcast now outnumber radio stations
Original Story
Knew it was just a matter of time. If you're not hip to the podcasting scene just yet here's a few I'd recommend.
NPR's podcast directory (Huge listing of nearly 300 podcast)
This Week in Tech (TWiT - a round table discussion of current technological issues, plus various other shows. "Home to the world's most popular podcasts." Not just for nerds, very interesting/entertaining.)
Revision3 (Everything from the top tech stories, comedy, and even a new cooking show called "Ctrl+Alt+Chicken." Very good stuff, Revision 3 is leading the way for internet programming.)
Now remember, podcast are small audio files which can be downloaded and listened to whenever it's convenient for you. Also, you don't need an mp3 player to listen, any computer with speakers will work, so their great to play while cleaning the house, etc. Many podcasters (esp. Revision 3) have also begun releasing their shows in a video format, pushing this new medium even further.

There goes my hero...
I don't really feel as eloquent as those who are paid to write these stories so here's the link (via Dvorak's Blog).
Summary:
Homeless man finds a wallet containing $900 and several credit cards. He promptly returns it to someone in the building near where he found it, who happens to know the woman it belongs to. He receives a $100 reward which he splits with the person he originally gave it to. He also declined to give his name.
Wow, speechless.

Way to go Billy Boy!
Story has already been written. Read it here.
Say what you will about him, the mans a closer. It does, however, seems like if the gov't concern is legality and the consumers concern is cost, they would have opted for a free Linux OS instead. Hum...
I wonder if they have laws to limit monopolies? Guess not.

Eskimos have like, a thousand words for snow...
I'm done with it. I'm at the end of my rope. I am no longer asking people how they're doing. It's a bullshit question that elicits a reflex answer. The only time you get an honest response is when someone's having an off day, which is fine; at least I'm truly interacting with this person.
Possible replies to, "How are you doing?"
Let me know if you have any suggestions...

"Snoocthie Bootchies!!!", oh wait that's not funny
A friend of mine was waiting tables in a restaurant in Nashville a few years back and saw Jason Mewes (Jay of "Jay and Silent Bob") sitting alone at the bar. She said he looked horrible and barely even recognized him even though she was a big fan of "Strike Back". Maybe this explains why.
Kevin Smith is posting, bit by bit, the story of Mewes battle with drug addiction on his blog. If you've ever liked any of Smith's movies you'll love his writing. Too bad it's about such a sad subject.
I'll be updating this post as these come in

Ways you should spend your time...
By watching, and re-watching, episodes of the recently canceled British sitcom, "The IT Crowd." The show focuses on the short coming of a mega-company's three person IT team who, of course, work in the basement. Visit the official site Here or watch some episodes via YouTube
(episodes 4 and 5 are a must)

Brilliant!

Word of the Day:
Contemporary Social Relativity (CSR):
When, for whatever reason, two people are able to have a conversation, esp. when they have little in common. Exemplified when you and that person you can't stand or haven't spoken to in a long time spark up a conversation. A very squishy theory at best, this word/phrase has no place in a sentence.

Another in a series...
Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., Punches Police Officer in the Chest
The next time I want to get rowdy I'm just heading to Capitol Hill...
From Fox New (I know):
"I was urgently trying to get to an important meeting on time to fulfill my obligations to my constituents...I did not have on my congressional pin...I deeply regret that the incident occurred,"
No Shit

Fantasy World...
I was walking across campus the other day and listening to Radiohead. Now don't get me wrong, Radiohead has done awesome things and is a great band; but I've never really listened to them before and wasn't really listening to them then. I don't know any of their lyrics and besides a few that I might recognize on the radio, none of their songs. So as I was walking, I asked myself, "Why am I listening to this right now, why is this in my playlist?". Before I had time think of an answer my mind said, "because it makes me feel like I'm in a commercial". Is that what we dream of nowadays? Discuss, Please leave comments.
